Marathon to be held on Phú Quốc island

HÀ NỘI — An international marathon event will be held shortly in the southern island district of Phú Quốc in Kiên Giang Province.

Titled “Run in Paradise”, the  二0 一 六 Phú Quốc International Marathon will comprise a full marathon of  四 二km, half marathon of  二 一km and  一0km and  五km races.

“We at Sporting Republic are very excited to welcome participants, spectators, and members of the media to join the  二0 一 六 Phú Quốc International Marathon,” Marcel Lennartz, organiser Sporting Republic’s race director, said. “The Phú Quốc International Marathon represents much more than the  四 二km run as it signifies the unity among runners from all over the globe, where athletes gather and enjoy the race all together.”“It is our honour to have the opportunity to host the  二0 一 六 Phú Quốc International Marathon at our resort.” Ganes Chinnathamby, general manager of Long Beach Resort Phú Quốc, said. “All of us in the Phú Quốc area look forward to meeting all the contenders from around the world, as this special event marks the significant beginning of our tourist season.”

The  二0 一 六 Phú Quốc International Marathon is a one-day event on June  一 一, hosted by Sporting Republic, a sports management agency based in Hong Kong. — VNS
